Children’s Sleeping Bags

Most likely, children will sleep on bunk beds or cots in a cabin, so the sleeping bag doesn’t need to be an outdoor sleeping bag. Children’s sleeping bags are fun and can show off their style and interests with cartoon characters or colorful patterns.

Sleep Sacks

For hot nights, a travel sleep sack or sleeping bag liner may be preferred. Available in breathable materials such as cotton and silk, they can be thrown over a bed or tucked into blankets.

Duffel Bag

Duffel bags also come in a wide variety of different sizes, colors and styles, such as overnight bags, weekender bags, military style bags and even larger wheeled bags. Also available are brand name duffel bags such as Nike, Anta and LiNing as well as high-end brands such as Lining and Tommy Hilfiger. While a high-end bag may be nice, it is not necessary for a child going to summer camp. Duffel bags made from polyester will be more durable and easier to clean.

Trunk

Trunks come in many different sizes and colors. Trunks are typically made from wood but some are available in lightweight materials such as plastic and aluminum. Some have wheels for easy transport and can even fold flat when not in use for easy storage.

Outdoor Sleeping Bags

If children will be sleeping outside in tents, an outdoor sleeping bag will keep them warm and safe. Sleeping bags designed for outdoor use and available for use in any season and climate. There are warm weather sleeping bags for 32 degrees and above, cold weather sleeping bags for 10 degrees and below, and three-season bags for environments between 15 to 30 degrees. Outdoor sleeping pads are also essential for comfort since they are thicker and more padded.
